James
was an emergency found at the Miami Humane Society. He was badly abused and had
some major problems combined with massive infection. James is a sweet hearted
gentle male with nothing but forgiveness and kisses to give. He will be taken
from the Humane Society to Dr. Iglesias. We hope James survives his heartworm
treatment. Please contact me if you would like to share his love of life and be
his forever home.
James went to Tropical Park Animal Hospital and spent over one month there. He
was 53 pounds then and now he is 73 pounds, a twenty pound gain in such short
time! His heartworm treatment was done. On Tuesday, January 16th,
2001 Jane Dyar picked him up and he went to his foster home. He then developed
coughing, probably due to his heartworm treatment. He is back at the
clinic and he is being monitored closely. We need PRAYERS, lots of
them. We also need DONATIONS to cover the huge veterinary bill coming to
GRC.
PLEASE
HELP JAMES!

update
on James - 1/24/01
Today, Wednesday, I got a call from the vets - one of those calls you hate to
answer. James has been eating well, he had a dip yesterday, skin
infections looking better and his blood count is holding, but the coughing
started again and this time he coughed up some blood. The vet said it may
sound worse than it is, but she needs to check it out....have I heard that
before. I prayed as I put down the phone. He is happy and waggles
his bare tail and bony hips at the sight of any possible attention, his eyes
looking into you with so much love still to give. I will update you all
tomorrow on results. Thank you all for caring and sharing so much.
God Bless you all.

update on James
- 1/25/01
Good news...thanks for all the
prayers they must have been heard. James has
an upper respiratory infection. They are tackling it with strong
antibiotics designated just for his lungs. He
hasn't coughed up anymore blood, which leads them to believe he coughed so hard
he burst a small blood vessel and nothing worse. It has not
developed into pneumonia - so this should nip it in the bud. He is in good
spirits and I will be visiting and sending in a snap shot of "your
boy" so you all can see him. After all he has been rescued by us all!
Thank you and please keep the prayers coming and if you can please let everyone
you know of James and try and help him. He is not out of the woods yet and
we have to remember that.
God Bless

I
thought this an interesting shot. It seems James knew we would merge these
one day. On the left is when we first were called to see him, my friend
Lynne and I, he was in extremely bad shape. Infections and open wounds.
Apparent abuse. His back was curved from malnutrition and mange was
devastating the parts that had no wounds. His neck was full of puss from
the prong collar that had grown into it and his eyes were infected, sunken and
barely open. James could hardly walk, racked with pain but unwilling to
give up if he could get to kiss you with his feverishly hot tongue.
This is James now, on the right. Sir James, as I would like to always remember
him, flapping tongue, dancing eyes and a spirit of unconditional love of life!
He certainly has come a long way, and so have I in coming to know this Rottweiler.
I hope if your out there, that special person with a special heart, you
come to claim him as your own.

Can
you believe this is the same dog? James has one more bath to go.
He is off meds and is holding his own weight - now 83 pounds! He
does have a 100 pound frame though. He is the favorite at the vets, here
he is with Fanny one of the vet techs who cares for him. As always he
loves to kiss and be rubbed, but now he has another favorite thing to do - run!
I never thought I'd see the day when this dog could run, he had a hard
time walking not that long ago. And those sunken eyes all gooked-up and
hazy now have filled out and have a bright light in them and are as dark and
deep as woods - oh if he could talk to me. When you walk him he pulls and
just can't smell enough flowers! He truly loves life, and has no
animosity. Now he just needs the right forever home and I know it isn't
far away! Thank you all for your prayers and support, and please don't
forget him we still have a bill coming on James that will be formidable. Remember
we are selling License Plate frames to support Rottweiler rescue and through
your purchase you can help make a difference just contact my e-mail to
order.

I desperately
need donations for James's vet bills.
James made it through circulatory infections, dehydration, heartworm, mange,
starvation, worms, fleas, ticks, pneumonia and beatings.
Now James faces losing this long battle by not being
released to his foster
home - due to the size of his vet bill $1,600! After nine rescues I have
now
found I need to ask for help. I MUST pay at least half of his bill to have
him released. I am afraid he may also start becoming aggressive by being
crated and not socialized properly. My visits are not enough, he must be
in
a home. This is his chance!
Please reach into your hearts and help him by sending a donation!
Your
checks can be made out to

NONE OF US CAN DO IT ALONE, BUT TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
This is an urgent plea.....I pray to hear from you all very soon.

The approx. balance is $1653, and
I have someone who will may take him out for foster but I can't get him out
without a payment - now it's like a catch 22! I will check my e-mail
tonight, let me know how to proceed with this. Thank you so much again!
