the story of one eye girl

CHECK HER UPDATE ON DECEMBER 7, 2005 AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE

named BELLA!

On May 20th, 2005 her story is posted on the Internet...

Hello All,
I am making one more check in to see if anyone has any options to help poor Bella find a special home. I think our time to save her will be up next week, as the vets office can no longer keep her. Please forward to any reputable rescues, or let me know if you might have an option to help her.
Please see her bio below.
Thank you,
Please call me if you can give Bella a special place!

Bella needs a home!
She is a 3-4 year old spayed Rottie girl, she came from a bad breeder, as she has a small white tuft on her chest and full tail, she also only has one eye. It was removed awhile back due to a bad infection. She has been desperately waiting for somewhere to go, a vets office in St. Louis has been keeping her for several weeks now. I went and visited Bella on Saturday. Here is what I can gather- she is not housebroken or crate trained.
Evidently the foster/home she had shouldn't have ever been a foster home!! She doesn't appear to have obedience either. She is full of energy and very
strong and excitable, I think this is due in part that she has been held in a small kennel in the vets office for several weeks now, only going out for short
walks and potties. She is a very sweet girl and very food motivated. She ate several treats from my hand. I believe she is about 80 pounds.
Evidently she was around kids/cats/dogs at the old foster place. Right now I would say best around older kids until she gets some training and gets into a better environment where she can burn off some of that energy.
There won't be any fees if she can go into a rescue organization. Do you think you guys have any place for her to go?
Here is a picture of Bella.

Thank you,

Michelle, where are you located?  We are in Miami, FLorida!!!   I will open the picture now.
I am in Southern Illinois.  This girl is at a St. Louis MO vet.  We will get her to you. :-)  I know you won't remember me but I met you at Nationals in Orlando. :-)  I was there with Peppi Schroeder from Wichita KS.  :-P

Thanks again

Michelle

This is the link to the St. Louis girl.  She was originally placed by a rescue in the St. Louis area that is no longer doing rescue.  The family the rescue placed her with dumped her at the vets. :(

This will be a two day transport unless we can find someone traveling to Florida over Memorial Day Weekend. :-)  If you can assist, please contact me privately at xxxxxxx

All GRC members living in Florida, look at the transportation needed and PLEASE, lets try to cover the FLORIDA LEGS of this transportation.

bella arrives in miami!

Here are some pictures taken today.

I want to know that I LOVED the couple who came with Bella.  It renews my hope for a better world!!!  What a nice couple and what a huge ride they had to do to bring Bella to me.

They live in Ft. Myers, that is about 3 hours from Orlando.  They transported Bella from Orlando to Miami, that is 3- 1/2 hours drive.  Then, they had to drive back to Ft. Myers, another 2 hours.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

While I was waiting for Bella outside my home a HUSKY runs down my block dragging his leash.  He saw my dogs outside my home (fenced) and came right up to them.  I was able to catch him.

What do I with him?  Bella is on her way!!!  One more to worry about and a Husky no less.
Huskies are know for jumping fences and running away.  This dog was very clean and handsome.  He probably spooked with thunder while he was being walked.

Brandy, Josh and Bella arrived and I decided to let Bella and Husky meet.  No problem, they became friend immediately.

Bella and Husky were placed together.  But Husky, as I suspected, JUMPED the fence.
He is now confined in my garage (AC)

Here are the pictures and I hope you enjoy them. I promise everyone to keep you informed. I hope to find a good home for Bella.
God must have a reason for involving so many of his Guardian Angels, you will see.

I ask God to bless each of you, I know you are already.

Thank you again, Grace

Grace,
We finally have some good digitals of Bella to send along.  She truly is "Bella the one-eyed wonder dog".  She is a good learner and she has most of her basic obedience commands mastered.  She also decided that the sun rises and sets with our oldest son Robert.  She sleeps in his room and has trained herself to the sound of his car so when he comes home from school she's already waiting at the door.  Now that we have Bella more or less settled,  we've been thinking a little about getting another rescue Rott.  We we're just playing with the idea and not even thinking of doing anything until after the new year.....and then we happened to see Rocky on your web site.  Do you have more info on him?  We definitely want to go with a male and, as with Bella, his disposition and temperament seem to be what we're looking for.

Enjoy the Pics of Bella and Merry Christmas to you and all the GGARR folks.

Regards
Joe and Jackie Osborne
